Some of the EPSS™
Online Search Engine screens do not appear properly.
Is it because of the new pop-up blocking feature in Windows
XP Service Pack 2?
If some of the EPSS™ screens
do not appear up properly and you
have just applied the Windows XP Service Pack 2, you will
need to allow the pop-ups from our website. To allow pop-ups
from our site, click the Tools menu in Microsoft® Internet Explorer and
select Internet Options. Click on Privacy, and select
Settings in the Pop-Up Blocker section. In the Address of
web sites to allow field, add *.cornerstonehealthcare.net
and click Add. Click Close and finally OK to save the
changes. Logout of your EPSS™ session and close the
browser. Restart the browser and everything should work
fine.
My
EPSS™ Online Search Engine session timed out. What do I do now?
For your protection and security purposes, when you access
the EPSS™ Online Search Engine, your online session is set
to time out in 30 minutes. If there is no activity during this
30-minute period, you will be logged out automatically. When this
happens, simply go to the MyEPSS™ Site (by clicking on the
MyEPSS™ link) and sign in again.
How many user accounts can I create under my Client Profile?
You can create as many user accounts as specified under your
EPSS™ Online Subscription Agreement. If you need to add more
accounts than your contract will allow, please
contact our Technical Support staff for further
assistance. To see how many user accounts have
been created in your Client Profile and the total number
of user accounts allowed,
login to the MyEPSS™
site, then click on the
Account Maintenance link. Note that you must be an Admin
User to view and access the Account Maintenance screen.
How do I change the user password
for my account?
To change the password for your user account, go to the
MyEPSS™ site and click the Change Password link
under the Useful Links section on the left side of the page. On the Change Password page, enter
your current password, new password and confirm password
and click Save. Make sure the new password is 8 to 15
characters long.
I am trying to login to MyEPSS™
account but the error indicates that I have already logged
in?
If you are trying to login to the MyEPSS™ site and the error
message indicates that you have already logged in, it means
that another user within your organization is currently
logged in to the MyEPSS™ site using your user id, at a
different machine. If this is not the case, try to login to
the MyEPSS™ site on the same machine that you last logged
in. This should resolve the error. If you still need
further assistance, please
contact our Technical Support staff either by phone or
e-mail.
I entered a search criteria for a
vendor and the search returns a blank screen What happens?
Check to see if the vendor's name contains an apostrophe.
If there is one, remove it and try the search again.
After a batch is created, when I
click on Process to process the batch, I get a blank screen.
If you have multiple sites and the screen is blank when you
go into the Process Batch, it usually means that you don't
have permissions to the sites. To remedy this problem,
first click on the Sites icon in the Maintenance tab
and verify that all the sites for the batch are listed
there. Next, make sure that you have permissions to all the
sites (or the ones you are allowed to work with) by going to
the Maintenance tab and select the Users
icon (Note that you must be logged on as an Admin to do
this). The Site Level Access box shows all the sites that
you have permission to. If a site is missing and you want
to add it to your list, position the cursor on the row
marked with *, click on the down arrow in the Site ID column
and select the site id from the drop-down list. If you want
to add all the sites, click on the Add All Sites button
located on the right of the Site ID list. Return to the
Process Batch screen and you should see all of the records
there.
When I click on the Import button
in the Batch Upload screen, I get an error stating that "The
dBase database type isn't an installed database type or
doesn't support the operation you choose.
This error only
occurs if you have chosen the Typical or Custom
installation option when installing Office 2003 Suite or
Access 2003 and did not select the "dBase and FoxPro" data
access option. Run the Office Suite or Access
installation program
again and install the dBase data access option.
When I login to EPSS™, I get an
error message "Unrecognizable database format..."
What's wrong?
If you get this
error, it means that the Data Connection file is
corrupted and needs to be repaired. If you have
Microsoft® Access 2003 installed on your machine, bring
up Access 2003 and repair the Data Connection file.
The Data Connection file can be located, by default, in the Data
subfolder under the EPSS folder on your local drive,
and has an ".mdb" extension. If you do not
have Access 2003, please contact our Technical Support
staff for further assistance.
What is the EPSS™ Monthly Master File and how do
I install it?
The EPSS™ monthly master file update is the database required
by the EPSS™ client/server application. This database contains the
up-to-date information on sanctioned or excluded parties and
is updated once a month. It is, therefore, advised that you
check the
Downloads page frequently and download the latest master
file. To install the new EPSS™ monthly master file
update, please follow these steps:
- Locate the master file update on
your hard disk (e.g.: 0805mas.exe) if you downloaded it from
our web site or from the CD-ROM if you received the update
by mail
- Double click on the file to unzip
it
- Extract the file to the directory/folder where your
master file update is normally stored. By default, the
updates are usually located in C:\Program Files\EPSS\Updates
- Verify that the new update has been
properly extracted to the appropriate "Updates" folder by
viewing its contents using the Windows Explorer.
- Bring up the EPSS™ application and update the link to
the new master file. This is done by going to File
Maintenance Menu and selecting Linked Data
Manager. Under the Location of Master File, browse or
type in the path to the new master file. Then click the
Link button next to the Location of Master File field
If you need further assistance, please
contact our Technical Support staff.
I've just downloaded the latest
EPSS™ release from the website. How do I install it?
After you have downloaded the latest release of EPSS™
software to your hard drive, locate the file and double
click to extract the file. Extract the file to the
directory/folder where your EPSS™ file is normally stored.
By default, the EPSS™ executable is usually located in:
C:\Program Files\EPSS folder. When the extraction is
finished, you can safely delete the zipped file that was
downloaded.
Note that you will need a password to extract the downloaded
file. If you do not know the password, please
contact our Technical Support staff for assistance.
I encounter problems running
batches and working batch results. The first and last
names of the matches are missing. I am running EPSS™
on a Windows 98 machine. How do I resolve
these problems?
If your machine is running Windows 98, you will need
to upgrade the Jet Database Engine to Service Pack 8. The
Jet Database Engine Service Pack 8 can be downloaded
from the Microsoft
web site. For additional information, please refer to
the Microsoft Knowledge Base
item
KB829558.
I am trying to login to EPSS™ and
receiving the error "The expression OnOpen you entered as
the event property setting produced the following error
[Object or class does not support the set of events]"
How do I resolve this error?
The problem is due to a file named "dxsbar.dll" not
registered properly. To resolve this problem, follow these
steps:
- Insert the EPSS™ Installation CD
into the CD-ROM drive
- Navigate to the System folder on
the CD
- Copy 3 files: istdll32.dll,
msldbusr.dll, and dxsbar.dll from the System folder to your
C:\Winnt\System32 folder if you are using Windows
2000. For Windows 98/XP, the folder name is
C:\Windows\System32.
- Click Start > Run and type in:
regsvr32 C:\Winnt\System32\dxsbar.dll and press Enter.
Again, substitute the correct folder name if you use Windows
98, 2000, or XP.
- You should get a message that the dxsbar.dll file
has been registered successfully
This should correct the problem.
